Bonaire Hybrid Windfarm: Technical Due Diligence
Bonaire · Technical Due Diligence

Project overview
The Bonaire windfarm, backed up with diesel generation, is a hybrid renewable energy project that merges wind turbine output with diesel generators to maintain consistent supply during periods of low wind, optimising plant efficiency and grid reliability.
An Independent Power Producer commissioned JCM Consultant Engineers to undertake technical due diligence as part of its proposed purchase of the asset. The work was required to establish the technical condition, performance basis, compliance position, risks and potential liabilities before acquisition.
Our assessment included review of design drawings, equipment specifications and performance data, site inspections of the wind and diesel assets, verification of regulatory and permit compliance, analysis of operational performance and maintenance records, and technical input to financial modelling and valuation.
We also examined the grid connection and Power Purchase Agreement. The completed due diligence gave the purchaser an evidence based technical view of the asset and its risks to support the acquisition decision.
