Commissioning & Handover

Demonstrate that systems are complete, safe, functional and capable of meeting their intended performance before transfer to operations.

Objective

What this phase must achieve.

Move the asset from construction through controlled testing and start up into safe operation. Acceptance should be based on defined evidence, with operating information, training, residual work and responsibilities clearly transferred.

What the client needs to know

  • Are systems mechanically complete and safe to energise or introduce process materials?
  • Do test procedures prove the required function, protection and performance?
  • Are operators, maintainers, spares, procedures and emergency arrangements ready?
  • Is the handover evidence complete and are remaining items controlled?
