Strategy, Concept & Feasibility
Establish the business need, compare credible options and decide whether there is a viable project to define.

JCMCE supports projects from early definition through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover and operation. Engineering disciplines can be commissioned individually or combined into a high quality multidisciplinary scope.
Project lifecycle
Select a phase to understand its objective, the questions it must resolve, the work normally undertaken, the evidence produced and the decision that follows. Terminology is aligned to the client and sector, including FEL, concept, select, define, FEED, detailed design, the RIBA Plan of Work, Network Rail PACE, legacy GRIP, client stage gates and regulatory hold points.

Explore objectives and outputsDevelop the selected concept to a decision ready definition with a controlled technical, safety and execution basis.
Explore objectives and outputsProduce coordinated, verified and construction ready information while protecting the approved project basis.
Explore objectives and outputsTurn the controlled design into compliant equipment and installed works without losing technical intent, quality or programme control.
Explore objectives and outputsDemonstrate that systems are complete, safe, functional and capable of meeting their intended performance before transfer to operations.
Explore objectives and outputsProtect safety, reliability, compliance and asset value through disciplined engineering support and controlled change.

Help me find the right starting pointScope configuration
The scope is built around the engineering decisions, quality requirements, risks, interfaces and delivery outcomes the client needs.
Commission a discipline, study, design package or assurance activity with clear deliverables.
Coordinate engineering, quality, controls and commercial delivery through one accountable scope.
Strengthen delivery through Owner’s Engineer, PMC, project management and independent review roles.
Delivery and commercial arrangement
The project lifecycle describes when the work is undertaken. The contract defines who is responsible, how the services are delivered and how risk is allocated. JCMCE can provide a defined engineering discipline, an integrated design scope, project management, independent assurance, Owner’s Engineer support or PMC services. We can also work within EPC and EPCm delivery teams. Every appointment sets out the scope, interfaces, deliverables, programme, quality requirements, change control and commercial terms.
